Rachel Bond shares a working draft of the eighteenth century English poem Gray’s Elegy

Draft of Gray’s Elegy

Thomas Gray, “Stanzas wrote in a country church-yard”, c.1747-50 (Eton MS 281A). Holograph manuscript, 4 pages. http://collections.etoncollege.com/B49740

Thomas Gray’s tomb. He is buried in the churchyard of St Giles’s church, Stoke Poges, which may have been an inspiration for his elegy.
