Sara Spillett, Conservation Housekeeper

Who are you and what do you do?

My name is Sara, I am the Conservation Housekeeper and I work across the Eton College Collections.

What does a normal day at work at Eton look like for you?

Every day is different, it’s what I love the most about my job.  Working across the entire collection means that I do a variety of things like environmental monitoring, framing, cleaning, condition checking.  My favourite part of my job though is pest monitoring.

What inspired you to work in this sector / industry?

I’ve always loved historical houses and museums, I spent a lot of time going around National Trust properties as a child! When I was at university I did a module on collection care and realised that this was where my passion lay.
