Museum of Antiquities

Kim Cruickshank-Inns, Museum Custodian

Who are you and what do you do?

Kim Cruickshank-Inns, Museum Custodian

What made you want to work in the Museums and Galleries at Eton College?

This job involves two activities I really enjoy doing; meeting people and learning about objects! I also get opportunities to facilitate creative workshops, which brings people and objects together in fun ways.

Do you have a favourite item and why?

For me working across the museums is like being in a candy store, there are so many different things to discover and choose from! All the items have intrigue, even the most seemingly ordinary can have a really fascinating origin and story. They especially come alive when a visitor arrives to revisit an object, sometimes bringing guests, as if it were a dear old friend. And seeing the delight children take in discovering something for the first time. So, I think, if I have a favourite ‘anything’ it would be appreciation of the pleasure the items bring to people.

Keep an eye on our blog and social media for more shared views across the summer months!
