Clearing featured a single sculpture by Antony Gormley RA, Feeling Material XXXV (2008), alongside a number of closely related works on paper by the artist.
Speaking on the drawings, Gormley said, ‘Tracks, whether of skis in the snow, wet footprints on a floor, the fugitive lines of the wake of a boat, the loops of a swift’s flight-path are things all forms of life and living make. Some are visible, some not; some permanent, some not. Drawing has a relation to this registering of energy and expression of life’.
